Four Reasons it made sense for Lebron to leave Cleveland.

Some saw it coming, some didn't. I was one of the hopeful to see Lebron stay in Cleveland but, alas, he moved on to LA. Here are four reasons why it made sense.

1

He never really had a #2

He never really had a #2

Jordan & Pippen. Kareem & Magic. Shaq & Kobe. Lebron & ____. Some would argue that Kyrie was his #2 for the first 3 seasons but we found out later that Kyrie was never happy with Lebron coming to the Cavs. He did his best to play the part, but he wanted to be #1 and when he came to Cleveland that’s exactly what he thought he was. Don’t be surprised to see the Celtics in the finals next year with Lebron leaving and the Cavs in a rebuild the only team to stand in their way will be the Pacers.

Dan Gilbert

Dan Gilbert

OK we all remember “The Decision”, not Lebron’s best moment. We all remember “The Letter” that followed. The poison that spewed from the owner of the Cavs when Lebron made his “decision” to “Take his Talent’s to South Beach”. How Dan Gilbert said that it was “cowardly betrayal” what Lebron did. And while Lebron came back to the team I don’t think those words could ever be forgotten and, chances are, lingered in his mind these past four seasons. Dan Gilbert & Lebron’s relationship has always been a little shaky and I’m pretty sure Jeanie Buss will treat Lebron with much more respect than Dan Gilbert ever did.

Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson

With Magic Johnson now in charge of basketball operations for the Lakers the Magic/Lebron combination will be stunning. Just think of all the basketball knowledge that you have with just those two. The brainstorming and late hours that will be spent over the next few months will be something to watch and when they finally come down to being applied in October you are going to be amazed. These two minds together will make history and love ‘em or hate ‘em, the Lakers are going to be the team to watch. On the plus side, it will be fun to see Curry choke on his mouth piece.

It’s California

It’s California

California/Ohio. California/Ohio? Really, is there any question at all? You can live in California where the average low temperature IN THE WINTER is 49.9F or you could live in Ohio where the average high temperature FOR THE YEAR is 62.5F. Shovel snow and wear jackets throughout most of the year or wear shorts and a t-shirt and enjoy the sun? Plus, it puts him much closer to his production company, so he can build his future (you really don’t think he’s going to play basketball forever do you?) Now I’m an Ohioian. I love the state of Ohio. I love the fall and spring seasons and tolerate winter. But all things being equal I would much rather root for the Browns, Indians and Cavs from a comfy house in Fresno then in Ohio. So, yeah, enjoy the weather Lebron!!
