Plenty of movie scenes played out in abandoned subway stations deep beneath the city, may come to mind at this time. But what you should actually do is check out the 'City Hall Train Station', the place established in 1904 is a vintage treasure boasting skylights, brass fixtures and beautifully tiled ceilings. Here's a hint, take the line 6 going downtown, stay on till the last stop which is Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall, stay on the train and wait for the loop journey which takes a turn through the old station, giving you ample opportunity to 'ooh' and 'aah' at its splendour.
