A historic event, dragon boat races can be traced back to the 3rd century. The Mid-Autumn Festival

This festival falls on the 24th of September which is actually the 8th Full Moon in the Lunar calendar. During this time roads are flooded with bright lanterns and a variety of fire dragons adorns the streets. The National Day of Hong Kong falls on the 1st of October. This is, in fact, the same day when the Peoples Republic of China was founded.
