Some Things you Should Know if you Plan to Visit Koh Samui in July - Your Dream Beach Vacation

July is the best time to visit and experience the most of what this glorious island has to offer. Here's a list of facts to make you better prepared for the ideal getaway!

1

The weather

The weather is mostly sunny with the average temperatures hitting an acceptable 29 degree Celsius, both in land and sea. There are chances of the occasional afternoon tropical storms. However, this too is quite a refreshing experience and is nothing that you should be concerned about. There will be guaranteed sunshine, at least 6 hours, every day!

What to wear in town

Well, it's summer after all, so it goes without saying: suns out, hats out! Get those floppy sun hats out and flaunt your freshly done bright pedicures in flip-flops and sandals. Avoid polyester at all costs! Cotton and linen are going to be your best friends during this vacation; it is a good thing that flared, breezy skirts, pants, and shorts never go out of style! There is no particular dress code in town; just make sure you are comfortable. However, in case you plan to visit a temple, make sure you are dressed modestly. It helps to carry a scarf around. Also, don't forget your sunglasses.

What to wear at the beach

First of all, sunscreen! Your skin comes first. You can pack a couple of your favorite bikinis, beach sarongs, and kimonos. You could also get one of those fancy utility belts that allows you to keep your valuables safe with you. Be it your outfit, your lipstick or your accessories, wear some bold and bright colours. Picture you like this: brightly dressed, seated on the beach mat, all smiles in front of a beachfront villa in Koh Samui, isn't it so Instagram worthy? Do remember that if you plan to leave the beach to grab lunch or dinner elsewhere, you should cover up as modestly as possible. Basically, don't leave the beach in your bikinis and trunks!

4

Accommodation

There are plenty of options for you depending on your budget. July is one of the popular months amongst tourists, so most hotels including luxury hotels like Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort might have great early bird offers. Therefore, do plan your vacation in advance to ensure you have a great time.

5

Mosquitoes

There might be quite a few mosquitoes, so it's best to get yourself a good repellent that is easy to carry around. There are many decorative ways to repel mosquitoes now, like mosquito repellent bracelets. So, you are bound to find one that you prefer the most.

6

Events in July

There are a few events that pop up during July, so keep your eyes peeled for them. Apart from celebrating Canada day and U.S Independence Day, July in Koh Samui is also called the hammock month as they celebrate the hammock day on the 22nd of July. It is a made-up holiday, but certainly doesn't deserve an elaboration because you are on vacation after all!
