Top Things to do in Mui Ne - Explore the Eastern Coast of Vietnam

Nestled along golden bays and turquoise beaches, only 4 hours away from the bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, is this picturesque village named Mui Ne. Here are some things you should do.

1

Sunrise

It is an eastern coastal area; therefore watching the sun rise above the horizon is a definite must. During the early hours of dawn, you can see the silhouettes of brightly coloured fishing boats floating in luminescent light against the colours of morning sky; a magical sight indeed! It is not always you get to watch the sunrise. It doesn't have to be an effort. There are many a villa in Vietnam, lining the coasts that will provide you with a view of the ocean; thus enabling you to watch the sunset from your room. Keep your blinds raised and let the morning rays wake you to a spectacular view!

2

Early morning fish market

Head over to the shore to experience the chaotic morning routine of the fisherman and their families. It gives you an interesting perspective of the Vietnamese life. The wives and children help the fishermen sort their catch and help sell them. The fish markets are also situated at the shore, further away from resorts like Anantara Mui Ne Resort. So you can just walk along the sandy shore to reach the market.

3

Red Sand Dunes of Mui Ne

This is one place to be able to catch a spectacular sunset. The Red Sand Dunes is situated only a couple of kilometres away from the centre; you could even go on foot. You'll be surprised to witness that there is a dessert like land, not so far from the beach! What a wonder! The sunset here is like that of a painting; the sky bursts into a blaze of colours- bright red, a grapy purple and orange all at once! If you have read the book "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac, you must have come across a description of a sunset- if that description was to be painted, it would look like the sunset here!

4

Rent a motorbike or Quad bike and explore the White Sand Dunes

Since the White Sand Dunes are located about 25km from Mui Ne, this would be the ideal way to go there and ride across the Dunes.

5

Kite Surfing

Mui Ne, due to its windy beaches, is one of the most popular sites for kite surfing. Therefore, there are many learning centres that offer lessons for beginners. This would be an ideal place and opportunity to tick that off your bucket list.

6

Walk through the Fairy Stream

If you love the water and some peace and quiet, you will enjoy walking through this fairy stream. It's tucked away between the beaches and the villages. The water is only ankle deep, so take a walk barefoot and enjoy the formation of colourful limestones around. At the end of the stream is a small waterfall.
