Music festivals have always been a big hit, taking the world by storm; some of the biggest and best are spoken of, long after the event. Here are some of the world's most spectacular music festivals.
Scheduled to be held between the 13th and 22nd of April, in California, Coachella is one of the USA's biggest and most popular music festivals; probably the world. Held in the Coachella Valley Polo Grounds, the festival garners a large following of devoted fans who turn up in the signature attire, complete with a crown of flowers. The concert tickets sell out very fast for the weekend shows which have a 99,000 weekend capacity and a total of 198,000 tickets for all shows. The show is a star-studded event, and never fails with its impressive line-up; past performers include Guns N Roses, Calvin Harris, LCD Sound system, Sia, Major Lazer, Ice Cube and hundreds more A-listed artists who are headliners at the annual concert. Often mentioned in the best entertainment blogs, the show is well worth attending, if you are heading out to California in April.
One of the world's biggest and most popular electronic dance music festivals, Tomorrowland held in Boom, Belgium is scheduled from the 20th to 29th July. Sweeping the world by storm, the very popular electronic dance music genre is given proper publicity at this celebration where each of the artistically constructed stages is occupied by hundreds of DJ's adept in the art of presenting electronic music. Past concerts boast the talents of Tiesto, Alesso, Avicii, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis, David Guetta and Martin Garrix. Scheduled to be held from July 12th to the 15th in 2018, Exit is a very popular festival drawing large crowds from across the world. Taking place in Novi Sad, Serbia, this musical feast spans across various genres of music; covering, rock, hip-hop, metal, electronic, punk and reggae. Exit has been an annual event since the year 2000 and is held at the impressive Petrovaradin Fortress. Artists billed to appear in the upcoming show include, Whiz Khalifa, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Ellie Goulding and Bastille.
Taking Byron Bay by storm, Splendour in the Grass has been an annual festival since 2001. A world famous summer celebration the show revolves around a mix of genres, which include hip-hop, electronic and rock. The 2016 line-up of stars was quite impressive with the likes of Flume, The Stokes, James Blake, what So Not, Santigold, Leon Bridges and The 1975.
Fuji Rock takes place in Yuzawa within the Niigata Prefecture. Dates scheduled for the concert are the 27th to 31st July 2018. One of Asia's largest festivals, Fuji Rock has enjoyed varied concert locations since its inception in 1997. Originally held at Mount Fuji's base, the festival has also taken place at the Naeba Ski Resort since 1999. Specialising in electronic and rock music this festival has offered an impressive line-up of artists such as James Black, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Sigur Ross, Wilco and Beck.
