4 Best Beaches near Bangkok - Hua Hin, Pranburi, Pattaya and Koh Samet

Those visiting Bangkok can easily visit some of the best beaches in the country. These include the Hua Hin Beach, the Pranburi Beach, the Pattaya Beach and the beaches on Koh Samet.

1

The Hua Hin Beach

The Hua Hin Beach is located in the Hua Hin District which is around two hours away from Bangkok. It is believed that after the southern railway was built connecting Hua Hin with the capital of Bangkok, the former became one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand. Those residing at a resort in Hua Hin will be able to visit the Hua Hin Night Market, the Wat Khao Takiap the Cicada Market and Venezia Hua Hin with ease. The latter attraction is easily accessible from resorts near Route 4 such as AVANI Hua Hin Resort & Villas. Some of the most popular beaches in the area, other than the Hua Hin Beach, includes the Ch am Beach which is located around twenty minutes away from the city centre, and Khao Takiab which is home to a small fishing village.

2

The Pranburi Beach

The Pranburi Beach which is located near a peaceful oceanside town is also one of the best beaches near Bangkok. The beach is found in the district of Pranburi which is found within the Province known as Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It is located just south of the city of Hua Hin. Within driving distance from Bangkok, the Pranburi Beach is a less developed, and therefore, a more peaceful alternative to Hua Hin. Visitors should keep in mind that the area in which Pranburi is located is actually quite dry. Therefore, the likelihood of a lot of sun during your trip is high and, even during the monsoon season, the rainfall is considerably less.

3

The Beaches on Koh Samet

The beaches on Koh Samet are also some of the best beaches that can be found close to Bangkok. However, unlike the beaches in Hua Hin and Pranburi, these beaches are found on an island. The island of Ko Samet is located to the east of Bangkok and is around two hundred kilometres away from the capital. Those hoping to visit Koh Samet can opt to drive or hire a taxi. They can drive up to Rayong and opt for a ferry boat or a speedboat to the island. The ferry boat runs at different times so inquire and confirm the proper time prior to getting there.

4

The Pattaya Beach

Another stunning beach within easy access of Bangkok is the Pattaya Beach. This particular beach runs for a stretch of four kilometres and has been a tourist attraction for a long time. As a result, the surrounding environs are replete with restaurants, pubs, stores and boutiques and clubs. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Pattaya is considered a resort town. In order to get to the beach, make your way to Pattaya Beach Road – you will know that you are there when you see the welcoming line of palm trees that are found on the fringes of the beach.
