This song is very near and dear to my heart because it truly portrays what I believe in, which is equality, cross-cultural interaction, coexistence, respect, and helping one another despite our differences.

This song speaks about forgiveness and goes on to say that we all "Bleed Red." To me, this means that no matter what we look like on the outside, we are all the same on the inside. Whether big or small, forgiveness brings healing. I have been in both positions many times in my life where I have to both forgive and be forgiven.

I relate to the lyrics of this song throughout the entire piece. I am blessed with a very close and supportive family. I have been singing all my life and my mama will always be my number one fan. I believe that everything happens for a reason and if something is meant to be, then it will be. So, if my seven year old dream of becoming a famous singer doesn't pan out, I know that "I will be just fine." My favorite line of the song is, "I'm a saint and I'm a sinner. I'm a loser, I'm a winner. I'm am steady and unstable. I am young but I'm able." I take life one day at a time and if I fall down, I follow what my father taught me which is to "pick yourself up by your bootstraps and keep going!"

This song truly hits home hard and gets very personal. Yes, I have lost friends to suicide. I have been the judgmental person who was mad at them for doing so. But, I have also been the one with the depression and anxiety that eats me alive some days so badly that I begin to understand. I have good days and bad days and I know that I will get through this because I have decided to be strong and let nothing like this have power over me. This is not meant to be a pity party, it is simply a trial of my life!

If you read the description of the previous song, this song pretty much explains itself and is a perfect song to follow. I am a Christian and this is one of the many Christian songs that get me through daily life. It reminds me that even though I am broken, God makes beauty out of ashes and will mend my broken pieces to make me whole.

Lastly, I end on this song because I am the girl who has always worn makeup since I feel that I have to in order to be considered "pretty." Sometimes, it feels good to strip my face of all the products that "enhance" my features and just be me. It seems so simple; however, self love is a battle for lots of people due to societal "rules." Even at twenty years old, sometimes looking in the mirror and finding my self love is difficult. The last line is the most important line of the song in my opinion which asks, "Do you like you?" This song reminds me to show my true colors and stay true to myself.
