Things to do in Ladakh

The beauty of Pangong Lake is that it keeps changing colours and hence it is a place you must visit when travelling to ladakh. This lake is 134 kms long. Travelers can do camping if they wish to stay overnight at the lake.

Two valleys Shyok and Nubra provides the travelers with the most charming views and it’s a heaven for adventure junkies. Nubra valley sightseeing would include Hunder sand dunes, Diskit monastery, Panamik village, Yarab Tso Lake and Samstanling monastery. Tourists can also engage in Jeep & camel safaris. Nubra valley is also famous for Maitreya Buddha- a 32m tall statue of Buddha made of 8kgs of gold. It faces the Shyok river and was sanctified by the Dalai Lama

During the summers, tourists can enjoy white water rafting in the Zanskar river tributaries. But the real beauty of the river can be experienced during the winters when you can go for Zanskar river trek popularly known as the Chadar trek. Trekking on a thick blanket of ice is a thrilling experience. Zanskar river temperature goes down below -35 degree Celsius and the major attraction is the Nerak Waterfall which gets frozen from top to bottom.

Built on medieval Tibetan architectural style in the 16th century by King Sengge Nagyal is the Royal Palace of Leh. It is situated at the top of the hill. Inside there is a museum which contains 450 years old artefacts. This palace showcases the culture of the region

Opened in 1991, Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white- domed stupa located on a hilltop. This beautiful structure was constructed as a symbol of peace & tranquility of the world. It was made under the Peace Pagoda Mission which was initiated by the Japanese monks by building Buddhist stupas. This structure is not only famous for its religious significance but also for its panoramic views

The Highest Motorable Road in the World. The pass is the gateway to Nubra & Shyok Valley and Siachen glacier. Adventure travelers go to Khardung La through bikes and cycles for their adrenaline rush.
