1

Check Out the Museum of Trade Ceramics

The artistic side of this beautiful port city is reflected at the Museum of Trade Ceramics. Opened in 1975, and well supported by the government the place is a treat to explore. The building sporting traditional architectural styling's is a treat on its own while the over 430 pieces of ceramic artefacts well chronicle the city's ceramic trade which was a booming industry, back in time from the 8th to the 18th centuries. Within the collection are pieces from China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, India etc. Open from 8 am to 5 pm, the museum is a mere 4 minutes' drive from Anantara Hoi An Resort.

2

Visit the Museum of Sa Huynh Culture

If you are a fan of ancient cultures and art, do head over to this museum, which well replicates the pre-historic Sa Huynh culture; whose people are believed to be the first settlers of Hoi An. There you can understand the ancient lifestyles, traditions and cultures reflected in the well-illustrated, burial customs, perceptions surrounding life and death, as well as, a history of the regions development patterns. The museum is open from 7 am to 5.30 pm.

Hang-Out at An Bang Beach

A visit to a beach in the interiors of Vietnam is a rare treat; easy to reach from well-placed hotels in Hoi An, An Bang is one such lure. One of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, the waters here are clear and perfect for swimming, while the wide sandy beach is ideal for flopping down on and spending an absolutely 'lazy' day of sun, sand and surf. There are a few shops surrounding the beach, open until late night; ideal for some holiday retail therapy. The best season for visiting An Bang is March to September.

4

Treat Yourself at the Hoi An Craft Shop

The Hoi An Craft Shop is over 200 years old and a traditional Chinese 'Business House'. A real treat for the art, culture and tradition lover, this place is well stocked with some delicately beautiful arts and craft items. Observe lantern making and traditional embroidery methods of Hoi An there, while the museum displays a collection of artefacts displaying the unique cultural aspects of the region. Towards the front of the compound a number of cultural events hosted by local musicians and singers, are held treating tourists to a number of dance performances. The place is open from 10.15 am to 3.15 pm.

Explore the Central Market

Shopaholics should not miss a visit to the Central Market; the best place to pick up Vietnamese products. Locals love the place, as it is a one-stop shop for just about anything. You can shop for local fruits, vegetables, as well as, live produce; not all that useful for visitors, but ideal to get a gist of local lifestyles. A shopaholic will, of course, come across a number of typically Vietnamese items to purchase, remember to haggle over the price for the best deal.
