1

Spring

Every country in the world is in full bloom in spring. The grass is greener, the sun shines brighter and the people generally happier, unless of course, you are allergic to pollen. But, spring is a time of joy, outdoor activities, family picnics and festivals. When you visit this city in spring, choose to stay at a Green Lake hotel in Kunming the likes of Grand Park Kunming as this will place you within easy reach of the local markets and gardens. The temperature in spring can have sharp changes; therefore, even if it does look sunny outside, you must carry a thick sweater just in case.

2

Summer

Summers in Kunming are filled with long days, humid weathers, and warm evenings. Not to be confused with extreme sweltering summers though, this city lets you relax without too much heat. During this season, tourists and locals love to head over to the Stone Forest as it is cooler and offers a relief from the warmth. Even if you do not think you need it, opt to wear sunscreen every time you venture outside as the highland sunshine can be stronger than in the lower lands.

3

Autumn

This is the time of the year in which you will see Kunming at its busiest. Tourists arrive in flocks during this season as the weather is just perfect, with light winds and mediocre sunshine. The usual attractions these visitors head to are the ones in Kunming, Zhongdian, and Lijiang. Since it is a peak tourist season in the city, it's best to book your stay a month or two ahead if you are planning on holidaying during summer. Also, hotel rates can be quite expensive at this time of the year.

4

Winter

Winters in Kunming are not as cold as the ones in most parts of the world, but the city does look duller in comparison to the other months of the year. But, if you want a quiet holiday in a cosy nook, this is the perfect time for you. Not all the flowers may be in full bloom, but what is here will be beautiful and near perfect. The winters in Kunming have been getting colder over the past few years, therefore, if you do plan to go there on a vacation during this season, pack accordingly and take a lot of thick winter clothing with you. Kunming also sees some snow during winter, and on a few days in February, you might also encounter a few icy cold spots of rain. If you are the type of person who loves to take a break with a good book and a cup of coffee in a foreign country, the winters in Kunming will have you head over heels.
