Everyone knows that Galle Fort has pretty places to go to and take a look at, but when it comes to Galle; many are unaware of the amazing activities it has to offer too.

Whale Watching

Sri Lanka, being an island, has an ocean or sea on every corner, thus, the marine life in and around the country is rich like in no other place in the world. Whale watching is a fun thing to do when you are in Galle, especially if you are travelling with children. Japanese Peace Pagoda

Located on top of the Rumasalla Hill, this pagoda looks over the deep blue ocean. The Japanese Peace Pagoda is a gorgeous religious structure that was built in 2004. The Sinharaja Forest Reserve is about two hours away from Galle and offers wildlife safaris that let you enjoy the day to day activities of the animals with the backdrop of lush greens for as far as the eyes can see.

This place is exactly what the name says it is. A beach that lies cosily amidst a thick forest, the Jungle Beach is an untouched golden sand beach which is located near the Japanese Peace Pagoda.
