Pakatan Harapan (PH) leader Dr. Mahathir Mohamad wins as Prime Minister by Thursday evening. This marks a new chapter in Malaysia's political history as the previous ruling coalition, Barisan Nasional, had been in power since Independence. Dr Jorah Ramlan expects that the fundamentals and factors for economic development should not be changed for popularity.
The election commission allowed the four parties to run under a single banner, but under the law, they remain distinct entities. The four-party coalition wants to introduce Employees' Provident Fund scheme for housewives with RM50 monthly contribution from the government plus two percent salary contribution from husband, and gradually abolish highway tolls.
