(4/27/18) As our last image tweet for the semester, #RSJ108 students were prompted to create an image on a tool of our choice. The image tweet needed to contain an image of our own or stock photography, along with a piece of advice to future #RSJ108 students.
(4/27/18) PRSSA Nevada and RSJ NPPA collaborated to host a fundraiser for their organizations. The organizations offered professional headshots for $25.
(4/22/18) April 22 was recognized as Earth Day. National Geographic created a collection compelling photos of the world to commemorate Earth Day.
(4/20/18) TIME Magazine gathered 100 influential images of all time and showcased each image and its story in an article. After viewing each photo and reading the story behind it, I thought found that 'Earthrise' by William Anders was most compelling.
(4/20/18) Avicii, Swedish producer and DJ, was found dead in Oman. He was only 28-years-old and known for his EDM music.
(4/14/18) Unpleasant design is found in many places. Fences were placed at the roundabout located right in front the Joe Crowley Student Union to prevent drivers from loading and unloading their vehicles. However, the design looks like bike racks.
(4/13/18) A sperm whale was found dead and washed ashore. The whale had swallowed 64 pounds of plastic, which illustrates the major issue in littering and mass-consumption of plastic without proper disposal.
(4/7/18) Aaron Washington is a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno. He will be receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Aside from maintaining his grades, Washington spends his time working at the Welcome Center and for Nevada Athletics. Be sure to congratulate him on his successes if you see him around campus!
(3/31/2018) A toxic compound was found in coffee that is sold in California. A statement must now be included with a cancer warning to notify consumers of the risks.
(3/30/18) Sam Smith and Logic collaborated reminding their audiences of their worthy. The recently released song promotes self-love and confidence.
(3/24/18) Clothing line, Max & Vera, released a line of bras that securely holds healing crystals.
(3/17/18) I would be Copperplate! It is by far one of my favorite fonts offered. It is simple and classic.
(3/16/18) Election results are in! Hannah Jackson, ASUN President, and Carissa Bradley, ASUN Vice President, make history as they are the first female duo at the university after 120 years!
(3/13/14) Mika Alvarez, is running for Senator for Reynold's School of Journalism. Throughout the campaign period, Alvarez is sharing her platform with the university.
(3/9/18) F. Scott Fitsgerald, author of The Great Gatsby, shares a motivational quote. Remember to take advantage of every opportunity you are given.
(3/9/18) Members of Nevada Student Ambassador's were fundraising to raise money for their organization. All you can eat homemade mac and cheese was being served to event attendees for $5. The organization served vegan and gluten-free options, too!
(3/3/18) Finding inspiration and ideas to create new work is often difficult. While at a roadblock, it is important to remember that our greatest ideas do not always stem from a structured outline. It often takes multiple trial and errors before getting the perfect piece.
(2/17/18) Professor Amber Walsh uses her lecture slides to inspire students to use their work and creative outlets to constitute change.
(2/11/18) Throwback to #RSJ108's "You Do You Challenge Revisited!" That challenge in particular was a test of patience. However, this challenge advanced my Photoshop skills!
(2/2/18) Colors are used to emphasize on a certain mood and create a deeper meaning to varying messages. It helps create diverse emotions to the content being created.
