Samui night markets are a shopaholics paradise where you can purchase just about anything from clothing and make-up to electrical items, souvenirs and local food. Listed are the best.

1

Fisherman's Village Walking Street

Head over to the village of Bophut on a Friday to immerse yourself in the wonders of Fisherman's Village Walking Street. The market takes place from 17:00 to 23:00 Hours along the narrow stretch of Beach Road. Extending to the adjoining little streets, the market takes over the precinct as little stalls and kiosks selling all manner of goods spring up all around. Prices are very low, while goods sold across Thailand are available in one place, hence, you can easily shop for sunglasses, handbags, rustic jewellery, the famous 100 baht t-shirts, watches, souvenirs and even some rather dodgy 'branded' clothes.

2

Elephant Walk Koh Samui

This too is a popular night market which also, takes place in Fisherman's Village. Located across the road from the Walking Elephant Restaurant, this market perfect for picking up souvenirs offers a rather lively ambience to enjoy. Just 48 minutes if you are staying at a well placed Koh Samui Island resort, this night market in Bophut offers a range of dining venues in aesthetically pleasing settings, to relax at once done with your shopping. Perfect for an evening visit, guests at Sunset Coast Samui Resort & Villas, are bound to love the leisurely drive to Fisherman's Village.

3

Chaweng Night Market

Chaweng Night Market, contrary to its name, is mainly a foodies market. The place offers a range of dining options and very few retail stalls. However, if you are up for a scout of food, typical Thai style, do check out the market, offering a range of local food options, internationals favourites and some European specials. Chaweng Night Market is open from 17:00 hours to 23:00 hours.

4

Lamai Night Plaza

This market is located right smack in the middle of Lamai Town; it is opposite McDonald's and next to a beer garden leading onto a miniature version of Patpong in Bangkok. A fun precinct to explore the market features all the fake goody thrills of a typical Thai open air market. On sale are fake watches, shifty branded t-shirts, flip flops, lots of pirated goods, flashy swiss army knives, and lots of other quirky little goodies, which make browsing through a Thai market, loads of fun; this market is open daily from 17:00 hours onwards.

5

Chaweng Walking Street

This market offers one a choice of cocktails and retail therapy; best of all the experience barely costs anything. Chaweng Walking Street offers all this and more, simply head over to South Chaweng just off the main street and you will be surrounded by a host of colours sounds and smells, emanating from the various items on sale. Rifle through some very cool items such as, cut off jeans, carved wooden items, bags, flip flops, children's clothing and much more. There is also a large food court here.
