Kahoot! Is a fun and interactive way to bring learning and gaming together. Students can play each other in the classroom or connect with students from around the world! Kahoot says it best- "After a game, encourage players to create and share their own kahoots to deepen understanding, mastery and purpose, as well as engage in peer-led discussions. When a learner becomes a leader, that’s a true magic moment!" (Kahoot!,2018).
Scratch is a creative learning community, students can code to create stories, games, and animations that they can share throughout the digital community or classroom. It is a great way to engage, promote deeper thinking, and encourage students to collaborate and create within the classroom.
Makerspace is student-centered learning. Students engage and explore their interests, use a variety of tools , physical and technological, to develop and create projects.
Light bot is a puzzle game that is coding based, it teaches programming logic as students play- without the student knowing! Having coding knowledge will help prepare students for not just 21st century schooling, but 21st century life! As the world goes digital- so will your students!
Communication is key in the classroom. Teachers need to communicate with students, parents, family members, and even the community. The Remind app keeps you in contact with all- it even will translate messages to more than 70 languages. What a great benefit for keeping in contact with the families of ELL students! And don't worry Remind has built in safety features that ensure privacy is not violated.
Edmodo is one of my fave 21st century tools - it is a social networking tool that connects learners and educational resources available around the world!
Lessons that fit the 21st century. Create your own lesson or use one of the many lessons available - you can even add virtual field trips, quizzes, polls, and open-ended questions too!
myOn is a literary library that students can personalize and access from anywhere the internet is available. Students that are given ownership of what they read, are found to read more!
Storybird is a great app to engage students, and promote a love of reading and writing. Students can make their own stories from start to finish and can even publish digitally to share with others.
