Considering The Best Arcade Game Characters of All Time

Today is the start of college basketball’s championship tournament and it got us thinking, who would be the top seeds of arcade characters throughout the year? Below we break down the top seeds and some characters who could definitely play the role of Cinderella.

1

Video Game Characters

We are always scouring the Internet for the best arcade machines for sale. The ones that catch our eyes the most are the titles with some of our favorite arcade characters of all time. For example, the original Donkey Kong gives us the chance to play with both Mario and Donkey Kong

2

The Favorites

Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, and Kentucky serve as the perennial favorites in College basketball. They have earned this distinction through their strong tradition and ability to remain relevant year after year. That’s why our favorites include Mario, Pac-Man, Lara Kroft and Sonic the Hedgehog. These 4 characters may or may not be a part of the best games of today but they have the love of the public. The same can be said for their basketball counterparts. Even during down years, they are often selected to go further than they probably should.

3

The Cinderellas

To be eligible as a Cinderella you have to come from a school that isn’t a perennial powerhouse and is probably seeded a little lower than they should be as a result. This year’s NCAA tournament’s most popular Cinderella’s are Chicago Loyola University and New Mexico State. When it comes to arcade games for sale with cinderella eligible characters look no further than Ryu from the Street Fighter cannon and Chef Peter Pepper from Burgertime.

These two characters fit the mold of that Cinderella team because their games can stand toe to toe with the giants of the industry. Burgertime and Street Fighter are two of the most iconic arcade games of all time, but they are rarely in the conversation with the titans of the industry.

The Champion

While everyone loves rooting for the underdog, the reality is that a top team usually cuts down the nets at the end of the day. There’s a reason Mario is the most recognizable character in arcade games and video games at large. Once the king, always the king.
