The Homeschool programs at Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary are extensive and time-tested (this program has been run for 20 years!). From preschool to teen, they offer a range of hands-on, age-appropriate classes that involve lots of exploration at this exquisite nature site in all seasons.
Hands on Nature is an educational outdoor nature program available to students from preschool to high school located in Berlin, MA. They have dedicated homeschool programming that involves catching salamanders and traipsing through mud in all seasons. Older kids can choose from outdoor exploration or the epicly popular Wilderness Survival class (building shelters, lighting fire). Affordable, and a good solid 5 hours of outdoor fun.
Taught by Zoo educators, classes include hands-on activities, discussion, animal encounters and behind-the-scenes experiences. Each semester includes progressive program topics focused on teaching students about animals and their interactions within their ecosystems.
The Innovation Institute offers homeschool, after school, weekends, vacations and summer STEM enrichment classes for students ages 5-17. This is one of the only places that you can find homeschool lab science classes - biochemistry, chemistry and physics are all offered.
An amazing homeschool mama organizes fantastic field trips that range from hands on activities - Lego, biology, engineering - at MIT's Edgerton Center to tours of unique sites and museums (ever been to the Mapparium?). Hasn't been updated in a bit, but the list of activities is inspiring!
