The development of Inventor Professional over the last few years has been pretty fascinating, with one or two mid-year releases becoming the norm, but the major release still typically packing the biggest punch. Having seen the amount of additions in Inventor 2018.1, 2018.2 (a rough count is about 35 additions), I must admit I was expecting a somewhat muted 2019 release. While this might appear to be the case for top-level new feature count alone, don’t be fooled – there’s major new workflows introduced, which could genuinely revolutionise the way you work with Inventor.
One of the questions we often get asked about AutoCAD Civil 3D is “Does it create turning heads?”. There’s not a specific tool for doing that, but the corridor modelling tools are very flexible, and the current release of Civil 3D has some useful features that can really help in modelling more complex corridors.

These fears were promptly alleviated with the introduction of the Industry Collections. For those in the manufacturing arena, the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection filled the void with access to the key applications in the Product Design Suites and expanded the mix with additional and new services.

Vigilance and foresight is now not about being on-the-spot but about having the greater vision that comes from technology. The CAFM software tools now available help facility managers move seamlessly from one task to the next; from reactive problem solving to proactively identifying opportunities. The tricks are in knowing how to best utilise them.
If you could collect this information, analyse and present it, you’d have powerful and defensible justification to ensure investment to deliver your Facilities Management and Real Estate strategy. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? But the reality is that the information you need to get your hands on sits isolated in stand-alone systems, group email boxes, excel worksheets and contractor databases. Besides the inaccessibility of the data, there’s the issue of quality. Without a centralised Facilities Management Software solution or common reporting standards, generating credible reports is going to be a struggle.
A document and drawing management software can remove this hassle and the errors mentioned above by automatically naming all project documents for you; ultimately providing you with the first step to achieving BIM Level 1 & 2 maturity.
Autodesk Software - Our comprehensive range of leading software and hardware for the construction sector.
SketchUp Pro is useful from the earliest stages of design to the end of construction. Programming, diagramming, design development, detailing, documentation, RFIs - wherever you need drawings, you need SketchUp Pro.
Property Management Software - Drive proactive decision making with unified management reporting on portfolio performance.

When we create a profile in AutoCAD Civil 3D, some labels are available for vertical curves as part of the default template styles. We are going to use one of them and customise it to convey all the information which is relevant to define a vertical curve.
A critical factor in the speed and performance of your computer is the amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) that is installed.
Adding more RAM should improve the performance of Revit and your computer; however, even a computer with a fast CPU can run slowly without the proper amount of RAM.

When Facilities Management software is engaged earlier in the design-to-build process, firm foundations can be laid for truly intelligent estates and asset management based on smart use of data. Building Information Modelling (BIM) plays an increasingly important role in streamlining Facilities Management operations.
We like a challenging support call at Excitech. The aim was to pattern some stanchions for a handrail in Autodesk Inventor, with the path defined by a curve in a 3D sketch.

Quite often we hear building services engineers question, “why should we consider using Revit MEP.” “We don’t deliver BIM, none of our project partners use Revit, what would be the benefit to us?”
