Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses

This is undoubtedly one of the most famous and unique museums in the world. The Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses silently attest to the awe-inspiring charm of the country's ancient past. The imposing statues depict the warriors and horses of the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. It is believed that these figures have stood since the latter part of the third century BCE. The three pits where the terracotta army lies has over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots, 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Xi'an which has also been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Certain historical documents mention that the construction of the mausoleum involved a staggering 700,000 workers. The site was uncovered in the year 1974.

Banpo Museum

The museum which was opened to the public in the year 1991 is spread across an area of 65,000 square metres. The architecture of the museum is quite beautifully dignified too. Fossils of the Lantian Man, The Four Footed Li, The Deer Pattern Eaves Tile, frescoes and pottery tomb figures from the tomb of Princess Li Xianhui and The Kneeling Archer which was discovered from the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang are among the most prominent displays here.

The museum spreads across over 16,000 square metres and comprises of three parts, namely the "permanent exhibition hall", "temporary exhibition hall" and "exhibition hall of special themes".
