In fact, this place of worship was created by Luang Phor Pret. He usually practiced meditation at the Ampawan Temple and spent a lot of his time there. However, he was always in search of a location that better served his spiritual exercises. When he stumbled upon this very new spot, he sensed that it was just right and hence went on to erect the famous Wat Phu Khao Noi here. The temple stands tall atop a quaint and peaceful hill and everything from the surrounding to the views is perfect from up here.
As beautiful as this destination is, the Wat Phu Khao Noi is absolutely sacred. As a result, there are just as many devout worshippers who get drawn to this temple as there are tourists fascinated by the temple and its surroundings. The spiritual essence of this location comes from the great Luang Phro Pret monk. He was a devout monk who seemed to have a direct connection with the higher power. What really connects this temple with the revered monk is the fact that his footprints still remain within the premises. It has been almost 100 years since he left this earth but his footprints etched on a stone in the temple seemed to have found a place there for eternity. Thanks to these footprints the Thai's feel as though the revered monk still exists within these walls.
The Wat Phu Khao Noi Temple has been given a lot of regard in Thailand and hence budding monks are trained in this very location. In fact, this temple has a specialized monk training centre that is dedicated to this purpose. In addition to creating monks the temple also offers holiday classes for other Buddhist children.
The Wat Phu Khao Noi is one of the few temples in Thailand that is strongly considered miraculous.
