There is estimated to be around between 1.3M and 2.8M people living with epilepsy in the United States, with over 1 in 26 developing the condition sometime in their lifetime1. According to a recent study from the Journal of Epilepsy and Behavior, deaths caused by epilepsy have increased by 47% from 2005 to 20142. Some of these deaths are due to complications during and after the seizure, while others are due to accidents such as falls or drowning.
