Making a Memorable Morning in Asheville, NC

If you find yourself visiting Asheville, N.C., “one of the coolest towns in the U.S.,” you’ll want to make the most of your stay and experience all that the charming southern city has to offer.

1

Breakfast

There are excellent things to see and do in Asheville from the very start of your very first day in the city. To help you get your day off on the right foot, here’s how to make a memorable morning in Asheville, N.C.

2

Carolina Style

Start your day by grabbing the best breakfast in Asheville, NC. The best Asheville breakfast spots can be found downtown, right in the heart of the city. Most of them serve southern favorites such as biscuits and gravy, and Carolina-style eggs benedict, as well as mouthwatering chicken and waffles.

3

Events

After getting your fill and one of the many fine breakfast joints in Asheville, it’s not time to see the sites and visit one of the city’s hidden secrets.

One of the nicest places in Asheville to spend a morning sunset is the Carrier Park Velodrome. It’s hard for some to believe that this venue used to host NASCAR races, but there are still dings and scuffs on the track that prove that all-time racing greats such as Richard Petty used to compete there.

4

Speed

From 1960 to 1999, it was known as the New Asheville Speedway and it operated as one of NASCAR’s top tracks in the 60s. In 1999, the land was sold to the city, which decided to turn it into a velodrome for all cyclist and recreationalists to enjoy.

The track can be used by cyclists of all ages, while the infield of the velodrome includes a roller hockey rink, basketball court, volley ball courts, and a large children’s playground.

5

French Broad River

There are also trails and bike tracks then follow along the French Broad River, plus a picnic pavilion and boating area for families to enjoy.

This is truly a morning in Asheville that any food lover and outdoor enthusiast would love.
