If you plan on going snorkelling in the Maldives, most diving schools around the area will supply you with the fins, snorkel and mask for any house reef snorkelling excursions. Many bars in the country which are all within resorts feature staples such as pool, snooker and table football. The speciality here is that you'll also find the main evening entertainment as well. These include cultural nights that feature amazing traditional Maldivian musical forms such as the bodu beru or big drum, a crab race, a karaoke night and even a live band. Some other exciting functions include a sarong competition night, staff shows and even discos. Holidays in Maldives are only as great as the place you stay in, and the country has a great many options to choose from such as Kurumba Maldives for example.
Most resorts also generally offer special dinners that guests can partake in for an extra charge. These dinners are held a couple of times a week and are held in separate settings to its main restaurant, sometimes even on the beach itself. You'll be offered impeccable service alongside personalized options such as a candlelit dinner on your veranda, a dinner on a nearby beach, on the jetty, at the end of a groyne in the lagoon or even in some cases on a completely different island altogether.
The water sports centre generally will offer activities such as canoeing, catamaran sailing or even windsurfing as a minimum. Another great sport that is currently gaining immense popularity is kite surfing which is a non-powered sport. For motored sports, you'll be able to test out banana boat rides, tubes or the exciting adventurous options like waterskiing, jet skiing and paragliding. Most Resorts also include special indoor sports such as table tennis, and some will even host a friendly competition night.
