Best Theme Parks In Singapore – Fun Attractions For The Whole Family

Singapore theme parks are some of the best in South Asia and are among the most popular activities for families looking to plan a fun day out.

1

Wild Wild Wet Singapore

Possibly one of the most popular waterparks on the island, wild wild wet Singapore is packed with plenty of thrilling water rides and slides, as well as pools and gentle flumes for all ages. Highlights at the park include a huge half-pipe called 'Side Up', 'Water Works' a flume ride which plunges riders into a pool, and 'Torpedo' an 18m free fall slides. In addition, there are some smaller rides for toddlers and young children, and plenty of sunbeds for parents to relax near the pools.

2

Haw Par Villa

Haw Par Villa is a quirky theme park based on characters and legends from Chinese mythology. Also known as the Tiger Balm Gardens (the park was created by the maker of Tiger Balm), the theme park seems more than a little kitsch at first, but its collection of colourful plaster and concrete figures are entertaining for those interested in learning about them. Some of the park's highlights include the Ten Courts of Hell, which depict punishments suffered for various sins such as greed, gambling, adultery and sloth. New additions to check out at the park include a multimedia performance of Chinese legends and a roller-coaster boat ride. Do note that there aren't many shady areas in the park and the vending machines available inside either don't work or are not always stocked. You can buy water bottles just outside of the main gate from a street vendor nearby.

Adventure Cove Waterpark Singapore

Located on Sentosa Island, Adventure Cove Waterpark Singapore is packed with plenty of thrilling rides for adrenaline junkies and a range of other less panic-inducing rides for younger kids. While the park is best known for its water rides, there's also there more unique attractions like Rainbow Reef which allows you to snorkel with over 20,000 tropical fish along a colourful reef, or the Ray Bay, which is home to Sting Rays and even a few sharks!

4

Universal Studios

The most famous theme park in Singapore is undoubtedly Universal Studios; the Hollywood movie park allows you to experience all the thrills and magic of some of the biggest movies of all time in seven differently themed sections. Hollywood Boulevard forms the main shopping centre where you can pick up souvenirs from your favourite movies and get your photo taken with the 'Movie Stars' like Marylyn Monroe who walk around the boulevard. Head over to Sci-Fi city where you'll find the world's tallest intertwining roller coasters among other exciting rides. Located on Sentosa Island, visitors should book passes ahead of time to avoid crowds. If you're staying at one of the hotels near Mapletree Business City in Singapore, such as the contemporary Park Hotel Alexandra, then you can easily hop on a bus straight to Sentosa.

5

LEGOLAND Malaysia

With over 70 different Lego-themed rides and water slides to choose from, a quick trip across the border has never been this fun! Ideal for the whole family, there are seven different play areas that contain rides to suit all ages, from Duplo Playtown for toddlers to the more thrilling amusement rides in Lego Technic.
