The Dalada Maligawa is the most sacred place of worship is not just Kandy but in all of Sri Lanka as well. The Dalada Maligawa is believed to house the very tooth of Lord Buddha. Throughout the interiors of the temple are pictures, paintings, and sculptures depicting the stories of how Lord Buddha's tooth made its way from India to this Island.
