Walk the Southern Ridges

One of the best spots in the country to enjoy panoramic views over the city, islands and harbour is the Southern Ridges - a 9km chain of walkways that are elevated 36m above the ground. The ridges consist of scenic footpaths and connecting bridges that take you through several parks including Mount Faber Park and West Coast Park. The most famous of these ridges is known as Henderson Waves. Officially the highest pedestrian bridge in the city, the ridges artistic wave-like features of Henderson Waves is a big attraction for locals. The bridge is lit by soft lights at night making it ideal for a scenic picnic under the stars.

This futuristic Gardens by the Bay is a spectacular place to visit during the day with its high-tech trees, space-age domes and interesting sculptures. Come evening, the landscape turns magical with the Garden Rhapsody Show. Sit back and watch the trees transform by lights and music, combined to create a stunning show. The show takes place daily and follows different musical themes such as the Star Wars edition. The show is free and worth a visit especially if your accommodation is located nearby, such as at Park Hotel Clarke Quay one of the many Clarke Quay hotels in Singapore.

Night cycling

Night cycling in Singapore is an excellent way to experience the city. The weather is cooler, the streets less crowded and you get some exercise at the same time! Try cycling around places like Changi Village or Ulu Sembawang Park Connector. For first time cyclists, the wide open roads of the North Eastern Riverine Loop is an ideal place to start. Bicycles are readily available for rent all over the city, and remember to pick up a helmet and cycle lights before you start.
