Seven 1970s Shows You Couldn't Wait For

You remember waiting for these shows every day or week. You watched them all the time and loved every second of them.

7 - Gilligan's Island

"Just sit right back and we'll tell a tale, a tale of a fateful trip" As hokey as it was Gilligan's Island was a must see growing up. And we sat back and enjoyed the antic of Gilligan as the Skipper did his disgusted look into the camera. But nothing beat seeing Ginger in all of those outfits. Well, one thing did. Seeing Mary Ann!!!

"Using the beta capsule Hyata becomes Ultraman!" Oh how we looked forward to those words. Here comes Ultraman to save Japan from almost certain destruction. Never without drama though. Because it always happens. Ultaman's energy indicator starts beeping and flashing. Why? Because, "The energy Ultraman gets from the sun diminishes rapidly in earths atmosphere." Never fear. Ultraman will fly to the sun, re-energize and defeat his current foe!

"Gimme Dat Shoe!" Superhost was a favorite for you channel 43 fans. Mild manored Henry Brookersteen (a.k.a. Marty Sullivan) kept us entertained with The Three Stooges and B films. His Selec-Ted Shorts on Supes On and Saturday Mad Theatre kept us laughing!

*"From high a top the television 8 building in the best location in the nation. On the shores of lake Erie..." * It started out as Hollahan & Big Chuck. Hoolahan left and they replace him with Little John who was already a regular on the show. Their shorts were some of the best ever and included "The Certain Ethnic..." We always had a great laugh and their signature laugh at the end was priceless!

3 - The Ghoul

3 - The Ghoul

"Pop your magic twanger overday froggy!" The Ghoul. Originally Ghoulardi, The Ghoul was the one I remember most. The great thing about The Ghoul, other than the fact that he liked to blow things up, was the way he would take a low rate movie and made it funny by inserting his own sounds throughout the movie. Some classics were Bill Cosby saying, "Hope the plane don't crash!" whenever there was a rocket taking off or the Dave Clark Five song "Catch Us If You Can" during a chase scene.

2 - The Three Stooges

2 - The Three Stooges

"Come on you knucklehead!" The Three Stooges. They were always scheming and trying to find a quick buck! We loved watching them at our Grandma Smith's house although I'm sure she didn't feel quite the same as we did. Especially after it was over when we tried to mimic their actions. We would hit each other and jump on the furniture. My Grandpa always got a kick out of it. When I was little I only liked Curly when it came to the rotating stooge. As I got older I learned to appreciate Shemp. But not Curly Joe. NEVER CURLY JOE!!!

1 - The Little Rascals (Our Gang)

"Don't drink the milk" OK there are just too many quotes from The Little Rascals to zoom in on one but it is by far my favorite. They take us back to a more innocent (yet far more ignorant) time. You have to laugh at the antics of these children. Some of the racial scenes on the show makes you say, "What the heck were they thinking?" But it also shows you how far we've come. By far my favorites were the regulars of the show such as Spanky and Buckwheat who were in the early episodes. Buckwheat portrayed a girl in the early episodes. But here's a name for you that was a regular. Tommy Bond. You may not remember him but he was also in the early episodes and later became the bully everyone loved to hate, Butch.
