Loogootee Students for Life- Loogootee High School
A club that started in 2015 with four people has grown to include nearly 10% of the entire student population. Having such close-knit group makes events fun. Instead of simply talking about
Planned Parenthood, this group carpools to their doorstep about an hour away. There they have Pro-Life Pep Rallies! The leader of the group has also developed a program where three underclassmen plan events with the group President, so they will know how to run the club when the time comes. Loogootee SFL has participated in Apologetics training by their SFLA Regional Coordinator, a back-to-school pro-life pep rally at Planned Parenthood, a Christmas diaper drive, Indiana SFLA Leadership Conference, and more. Thank you Loogootee for what you are doing in you High School for the pro-life movement!
Franciscan University Students for Life
“Our most successful event for our club was the filming of our online training for our new outreach arm: Values Outreach. We partnered with the Catechetical Institute at our university to professionally film about 50 videos that will be used to training our students to go out and spread the pro-life message. We worked as a team alongside our faculty and with graduate students to write the content, and the students themselves were the ones on film. We also gathered a team of video editors, so all post-production work has been done by our students. It was incredible to see so many students involved, as we have dozens of students working on this project.”
Franciscan University SFL has participated in several events on their campus such as SFLA Pregnant on Campus tabling events, March for Life, 12 hour prayer vigil at Planned Parenthood on the night of Good Friday, and many more. We are so proud of all of the work Franciscan SFL is doing to spread the pro-life message and LOVE THEM BOTH on their campus.
Wild for Life- Wayne State College
“We do our best to include pro-choice and unidentified students in our events by engaging them in conversation. We like to know where they are coming from and why they believe what they do. We have had some students convert to the pro-life movement.” Wild for Life has hosted several SFLA events on campus including our Stop the Violence tour, Apologetics trainings, and Christmas card making. SFLA is excited to see the how great this new group will be in the future. Thank you, Wild for Life, for making the decision to start a group on your campus!
Gonzaga University Students for Life- Gonzaga University
”This year, we specifically targeted the campus counseling and resource center, housing and residential life, and Title IX office. We proposed to the GU counseling center and our local pregnancy resource center (Life Services/IChoice) that GU Counseling should bring in a counselor from I-Choice to do pregnancy-specific counseling for pregnant women or drive the women to IChoice for a counseling appointment. Both agreed so all of our pregnant students will be directed to and can easily access life affirming counseling. We also got our website into their online page as well as listed in their resource database. In addition, they are going to put the Pregnant on campus flyers and cards in their office to hand out. Res life agreed to work with us to formulate a mandatory RA training on how RA's can effectively help and get resources to pregnant students who come to them for help. We also are going to give all RA's a pregnancy kit (designed after the examples SFL provided). They also are putting up our pregnant on campus tear-off information flyers on their residence hall announcement boards and are looking at distributing or posting flyers from I-Choice. Title IX office put our PONC website on their webpage and was very excited about our plan for campus and gives us their wholehearted support. They told us that if we ever run into resistance that they will advocate for us and our PONC project.” WOW! What a great example of how to love and support pregnant and parenting students!
