Top 5 Honeymoon Destinations in the Maldives – Creating Memories in the picture Perfect Archipelago

The Maldives has long been the go to location for honeymooners and can you blame them? With endless beaches and turquoise waters coupled with all the privacy one needs, Maldives has it all.

1

Malé Island

Visitors to the Maldives land at the airport and make a beeline to a Maldives beach resort far into the Indian Ocean such as Dhigali Maldives. By doing this they completely avoid Male and while many might tell you it's just vociferous and congested town, I beg to differ. For the couple who likes exploring and trying out new things, Male is just the place to visit. One can easily embrace the culture of the country by walking down the narrow alleys and visiting the many night markets. Don't forget to drop by at the Grand Mosque and gawk at its architecture. From Male one can easily go island hopping for a laidback day out at the beach. Basically put, Male delivers the best of two sides.

2

Hulhumale' Beach

Above I mentioned that close to Male one can find plenty of islands to wind down. Hulumale is one such island and is unique in its nature too. That's because unlike other islands in the archipelago, Hulumale is completely man made. Anyways, back to the point. The island has long white sanded beaches and clear waters while the many restaurants lining the beaches set the ideal stage for a romantic lunch or dinner.

3

Bikini Beach

Bikini Beach is the only public location in the country where tourists can wear bikinis, hence the name. With plenty of sunbeds and palm fringes lining the coast, the beach is a copy of the picturesque beaches of the Maldives that we are accustomed to. The best part about this location is that it is just an hour away from the airport.

4

Fulhadhoo

A tiny island of about two hundred and fifty residents, Fulhadhoo is widely considered as the most beautiful island in the Baa Atoll. The residents are concentrated in one corner of the island and the rest grows in a wild and untamed manner. Yes, this means a visitor gets plenty of privacy. The island has a lagoon that creates a small pool that is ideal and safe for kids. Far away from the typical tourist routes, Fulhadhoo is just the place for those looking for a calm vacation and timeout. The waters around the island consist of a reef which houses some of the most spectacular marine species such as dolphins and turtles. What makes it better is that these species are unafraid of humans allowing you to have a much more natural experience.

5

Dhigurah

Dhigurah has a delightful beach but its major selling point is the fact that whale sharks frequent the area all year around! Yes, you heard me right. Diving and snorkelling in these waters are definitely a must try activity. If you are not into snorkelling, the beach and the many cafés spread out over the island still have enough to keep you and your significant other occupied.
