5 Top Places to Celebrate the New Year in Singapore – Enjoy the Countdown in Style

Everyone loves planning something special for New Year Eve; why not consider Singapore as the perfect venue to welcome 2019? Listed are some of the best places to spend NYE in Singapore.

1

Labrador Park

Labrador Park is the perfect venue for night owls. The party starts at 10 pm on the 31st night and goes into the wee hours of the morning on the 1st of January. The celebrations keep going, until 6.30 am, considered the ideal plan for the new occupants of Singapore to meet the 10,000 permanent dwellers.

2

Clarke Quay

If contrary to the loud celebrations of Labrador Park, if you are the kind of person hankering for quieter celebrations, check out Clarke Quay. The un-crowded precinct is perfect for having a classy dinner and relaxed drinks. Later head over to Marina Bay or Siloso Bay and join in the countdown; you could choose accommodation around this serene district for added convenience and the Park Hotel Group, for instance, has several properties in Singapore.

3

The Siloso Beach Party

Beautiful Siloso Beach is famous for its NYE parties. You will be treated to 12 hours of non-stop music, which is the perfect accompaniment to all the fun you will be having in the giant foam pool located on the beach. The stunning 1.2km beach is the perfect venue to dance, relax and look forward to welcoming the New Year. The countdown on this beach is pretty amazing with the thrill of continuing the party all night long, at any one of the five special zones located along the beach.

4

The Marina Bay Area

This is not only a top tourist location but also, one of the hippest venues for a New Year's Eve party. Nothing beats the action and revelry at Marina Bay, but mind you get there early, in order to avoid being hassled by the large crowds, as you try to enter and exit the area. Closer to the countdown the crowds do increase. You will have to make hotel and restaurant reservations early, in order to avoid disappointments though, as this area, home to some of the best luxury hotels in Asia, is in high demand, around this time of the year. Also in this area is the Singapore Flyer, tipped to be one of the world's tallest Ferris Wheels, again hotels and restaurants in this vicinity tend to fill up pretty fast, and require prior bookings.

5

The Civics District

This car free zone is also the city's prided heritage district. Located next to Marina Bay, this area promises a range of celebrations to ring in the New Year. There is a countdown flea market and food bazaar, dance parties and movie screenings to look forward to. The areas pride and joy, the National Gallery of Singapore and Asia Civilizations Museum offered free entry after 5 pm, to NYE revellers last year, so, you never know what's in store this time.
