Top 4 Beaches in Chanthaburi – Selecting the best locations for beach therapy

More famed for its budding gem business, Chanthaburi's lesser known but equally breathtaking attraction is its coastline. With miles and miles of sandy beaches, here we choose the best few of them.

1

Khung Wiman Beach

Many consider this beach the headline location among all the beaches in the region and once you visit the Khung Wiman Beach you will realize why the locals feel so. Another point in its favour is its small size, which makes it ideal for anyone looking for a romantic location with a bit of privacy. The bay ensures that the water is calm all year around while groves of trees tower over the beach, giving you ample shade. The Khung Wiman Beach borders the Ao Kung Kaban National Park, so you can pop into the park and trot down to the beach after that to relax after a long day. The beach also has many restaurants that serve a variety of cuisine that ensure there is something for everyone.

2

Laem Sing Beach

While the Khung Wiman Beach has a golden beach, the Laem Sing Beach has soft white sand but manages to hold on to the same beauty and tranquillity of the former. The beach is well known for its clean nature as the water is always unpolluted and crystal clear. Casuarina Trees line the beach, adding to its wild nature. Stretching for one hundred and fifty metres, this hidden gem is quite close to many other attractions in the area. After you have lounged by the beach, you can visit the numerous pagodas around or hop into a nearby golf resort in Thailand such as the likes of Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao.

3

Laem Sadet Beach

The Laem Sadet Beach is quite similar to the previous beach but has one beautiful inclusion. Amidst the crystal clear waters lie schools of dolphins and more often than not you are likely to catch a glimpse of these quirky yet majestic sea creatures. It is a short distance to a national park so rest assured, you can lay your eyes on plenty of lush vegetation and wildlife. The groves of trees shelter a multitude of restaurants in case you get hungry. However, the best part of the Laem Sadet Beach is its laidback and quiet ambience, which make it the perfect location for good company and great food!

4

Ao Yang beach

Sometimes you are not in the mood for a laidback atmosphere. If so, make a beeline to the Ao Yang beach. It is well known for its buzzing nature, especially during the weekends. A little distance into the ocean is a big island, which you can swim to, provided the tides are not too strong and that the weather conditions allow for safe passage. It even has a freshwater pool which is so clean one could drink right out of it! Where restaurants are concerned, you can find six of these establishments. Five of these restaurants focus on Thai cuisine while the sixth is a more upscale restaurant.
