List of KL malls – Shopping in the famed capital of Malaysia

Shopping malls are great but when you have a load of them, it gets difficult to choose the best. To make the task much easier, here are the top malls in Kuala Lumpur to lose yourself in.

1

Pavillion Kuala Lumpur

One of the most awe-inspiring malls in the city, the Pavillion Kuala Lumpur is especially glorious during the festival periods. Made accessible to the public around a decade ago, the massive mall is home to a number of swanky stores like Gucci and Celine. Worry not as you can find plenty of affordable options too. The majority of the first level is set aside for the restaurants. And food lovers can rejoice! The food court has everything you will need and if you are looking for something more specific, the Manhattan Fish Market and Subway are a few steps away. Other than that, there is a theatre, a fitness centre and a few coffee shops littered over the mall. The shopping mall is located around a hundred metres from hotels such as The Westin Kuala Lumpur.

2

Suria KLCC

Situated underneath the Petronas Twin Towers, one of the major attractions in KL, this shopping mall spans six floors. Opened in 1999, it is thought to have heralded in the era of majestic shopping centres in Kuala Lumpur. Home to a number of high end shops, it has plenty of attractions aimed at the passing tourist. These include the Aquaria KLCC and the Petronas Art Gallery among many other attractions. The shopping centre features a modern design but does have hints of a vintage Western mall. Some of these vintage touches include the addition of vegetation, geometrically patterned marble on the floor and see-through panels for the inclusion of sunlight.

3

Midvalley Mega Mall

Often frequented by the locals, this is one of the most glamorous malls on this list. Home to about four hundred mid range shops, the Midvalley Mega Mall often hosts international and local fashion shows. As with the rest of the malls, this shopping centre is not lacking in the restaurant department either. If it is fast food you want, you can find a McDonald's, or if it is something more exquisite that you are looking for, the Esquire Kitchen is right there. The Midvalley Mega Mall has its fair share of coffee houses like Starbucks and plenty of bars too. On the side of leisure activities, there is a theatre and a bowling centre too.

4

Berjaya Times Square

Opened in 2003, this shopping centre ranks among the largest shopping centres in the world! Home to the country's biggest indoor themepark, which by the way has a seven storey long rollercoaster, this mall is perfect for a person shopping on a budget. Many shops offer low prices and incredible discounts. Some of the stores present under its roof include Body Glove and Kitschen. There is no shortage of restaurants here either thanks to the many worldwide franchises such as KFC and Papa John's while Japanese cuisine is present in the form of Sakae Sushi.
