The beach scene in Sunshine Coast has always been one of its most attractive features. Best part is it offers so much more than relaxation and swimming. If you want to surf, below are the best spots.

Noosa Beach

The waves are wonderful but well controlled at the Noosa Beach making it a great place for surfing for both the beginner as well as the well experienced surfer. The main beach that beginners will benefit from is the one facing north. Since it is the only north facing beach it has the added advantage of being quiet and calm. A beginner would want a safe place to comfortably get acclimated to the sport of surfing. One thing for sure is surfing demands skill and at the Noosa beach you get your space and environment to warm into the sport. There is also the Noosa National Park but this is only suited to the experienced surfer.

Little Cove

One other place that is well suited to the beginner is the Little Cove. This location is well known for its calm rolling point break waves and is an appropriate spot for both the beginners as well as the intermediates. One thing remarkable about this place is that it has these protected corners which are ideal for the purpose of getting familiar with the sport. It is a known fact that open beaches are better suited for experienced surfers since it is maximally exposed to wind and other elements which may end up making the waters unpredictable.

Double Island Point

This is a surfing hot spot that every experienced surfer is sure to love for it is wild, interesting and offers plenty of excitement and adventure for the well trained surfer. There is one particular part in this spot that is known for the remarkable waves that are found. This is the left wave in the Double Island Point and if you are riding it you surely are a pro in the surf world. The only con on accessing this beach is that you will need a 4WD to get here.

Old Woman Island

The Old Woman Island is yet again another popular surfing hotspot for those who are well experienced in the sport. There is both the left and the right handed waves found here so no matter what your preference you will be able to ride the waves in style at the Old Woman Island. In this particular coast the right is one of the only reef breaks. Accessing the Old Woman Island is also a bit tricky since you will need a boat to get here. Make sure you know how to paddle your way through the waters because if anything goes wrong there are lots of sharks down there.
