4 Places to Eat Thai Food in Bangkok – Indulge in Thai's famed cuisine

Thailand is famous around for a multitude of things but no aspect of the country is spoken more adoringly than its cuisine. Here we take a look at the best places to enjoy Thai cuisine.

1

The Streets Of Bangkok

Amid the noisy ruckus of tuk tuks screeching past and pavement hawkers, one can find some of the most authentic dishes of Thailand. Street food is very popular in Bangkok and they come in various forms. In certain places, it will be a simple cart by the pavement or it might be a whole line of stores complete with tables laid out on the pavement. It is not uncommon to be worried about the cleanliness of these shops and if you are, it is recommended that you dine at a busy location, as the ingredients will always be fresh. Be warned though, street cleaning is done on Mondays and the majority of the vendors tend to avoid working. This does not mean you will not find street food on Mondays, you will but just expect a sharp decrease in vendors.

2

Chinatown

Not only is Chinatown an important cultural hub in the city, it is also home to some of the best restaurants in Bangkok. For the best experience, drop by to Yaowarat, the premier street for street food in the area. These streets are usually filled with street hawkers during the day but as the evening wears on, the street hawkers disappear, to be replaced by the food vendors. Do not stuff yourself at one restaurant. Instead, have a meal at one restaurant and move to the next, similar to what the natives do. This might seem unorthodox to you but when you do it, you will realize that is where the actual thrill is! The location of Yaowarat Street makes it easy to access from most hotels in Bangkok such as the Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok.

3

La Table de Tee

If you are looking for something less vociferous and boisterous than Chinatown, then La Table de Tee is just the place for you. Offering a true gourmet dining experience, patrons are offered a set menu with a variety of main dishes, starters as well as desserts that make it one of the best five course set menus in the city. La Table de Tee is situated in a back alley on Soi Sala Daeng and offers a calming and romantic ambience that allows you to enjoy great French dishes away from the bustle of the city.

4

Bamee Sawang Restaurant

If you are a fan of noodles, then the Bamee Sawang Restaurant deserves to be high up on your list of things to experience. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating but the main highlight is its one of a kind egg noodles soup that is made from a recipe which is a family secret. The restaurant also makes use of wood instead of gas to cook the meals, which adds a unique touch and flavour to the dishes. All in all, this is an experience you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
