Top 3 Family Attractions in Johor Bahru, Malaysia – Having a great time does not mean having to exclude your family

With gardens, theme parks and a pristine coastline, Johor Bahru has everything you need for an idyllic holiday destination. Here we take a look at the best family attractions.

1

Legoland Malaysia

The first of its kind in Asia, Legoland Malaysia caters to people of all ages because, well who does not like Legos?! The theme park has over seventy rides, programs and other attractions aimed at both kids and adults. Some examples are the LEGO Kingdoms, Land of Adventure and Lego Cities. Imagination is another intriguing activity that will bring out the inner kid in every visitor; it allows you to build your own Lego objects like cars and buildings. Moreover, you are given the opportunity to even test the objects out. Other than the rides, Legoland has a Market Restaurant that offers a range of tantalizing Malaysian cuisine as well as foreign cuisine. Legoland Malaysia is open all seven days of the week and is generally open for longer during the weekends and public holidays. The theme park does not allow pets into the premises unless it is a guide dog.

2

Legoland Water Park

Located adjacent to Legoland Malaysia, the Legoland Waterpark is an excellent place to gain some respite from the hot climate Malaysia experiences often. Rather than the cliché water parks you have come to expect, the Legoland Waterpark comes with an interesting twist with activities such as the Build-A-Raft lazy river where you have to build your own LEGO object as you float down the gentle and meandering river. The Brick blaster, on the other hand, allows you to enjoy an exhilarating ride through a tunnel full of twists and turns with up to three other people as companions, making this an ideal fun filled activity for a family. Tickets for adults are priced at RM105 and RM85 for children. Due to its strategic location, one can easily find a hotel in Johor close to the water park.

3

Angry Birds Theme Park Johor

If you have ever been a fan of the Angry Birds game, here is the chance to dive deeper into that world thanks to the Angry Birds Theme Park. You can find the theme park at Komtar JBCC Mall where it is on the third floor. This is the first of its kind in South Asia and the twenty six thousand square feet area packs a large variety of activities and games for adults and kids. Activities such as the Piggy Shooting Gallery replicates the iconic shooting of the game in real life while the Giant Leap Foam Pit allows you jump from a trampoline into a foam pit. The question is, would you dare to do it? The Angry Birds Theme Park goes to the extent of including a go kart track. Aptly named the Angry Birds GO! Kart Track, the carts come in two sizes; one for kids and the other for teenagers and adults. The theme park is close to the beach front where hotels such as the Berjaya Waterfront Hotel can found.
