Top Attractions in Sentosa Island - Singapore's Entertainment Hub

Sentosa Island is a place for fun and adventure, an ideal way to enjoy your Singapore vacation. There is a lot to do here, though, so here are five things you must not miss.

1

Universal Studios

A franchise of the global chain of Universal Studios, it is a massive theme park with complex themed rides and attractions. It is recorded to bring over USD 4.5 billion annually. The Park, of course, is more geared towards young visitors having areas like Kingdom Far Far Away and a Sesame Street attraction; but the adult is not without fun as there are themed areas for Battlestar Galactica, Transformers, and Mummies among other things. If you want to explore the theme park to its fullest, it is best to purchase the express tickets. If going in through the regular tickets, you will have to spend close to two hours in queues waiting for your ride.

2

Sentosa Beaches

If there is one thing Singapore is famous for, it is a luxury. From Singapore luxury serviced apartments which are the most favoured accommodation option among visitors – for instance Ascott Raffles Place Singapore - to the Sentosa Island itself, luxury is the underlying theme here. Under such management, it is but little wonder that beaches at Sentosa were once strips of forests and jungles, now transformed to resemble some of the most alluring beaches in the world. You have plenty to do here at the beaches in Sentosa be it lounging under an umbrella, reading, or as the night falls, go crazy at one of the many beach parties.

3

See the Crane Dance

Crane Dance is an extravaganza that caters to the entire family. It is somewhat similar to the Symphony of Lights show you find in Hong Kong but is of a higher level in terms of lights and choreography. The show comes on every weekday night at 8 pm at Sentosa islands. The audiovisual performance is of two motorized cranes, gracefully dancing and flirting, falling in love with each other. There are eater effects added to the already exciting blend, which makes this one of the best attractions to visit free of charge.

4

Skyline Luge

This is an attraction that is with a practical purpose. One of the ways that you can enter the island of Sentosa from the mainland, and even over within different attractions in the island is through this Skyline - an open-air cable-driven chairlift. It will present you with breathtaking views of the harbour and its surrounding attractions. The best time to take the Skyline is towards the sunset when you can see the setting sun on one side and numerous ships entering the harbour on the other.

5

Tiger Sky Tower

If you are looking to catch a bird's eye view of the country, make your way to the Tiger Sky Tower. It is the tallest viewing tower in the country, standing at an astounding 131m. You will feel like you are taking a ride in itself when reaching the viewing deck, as it is done through a cabin being slowly pulled up along the shaft of the tower. You need to look for a guide or google for information on what you see, as a running commentary is made about the attractions you pass automatically in the cabin.
