Bali is known primarily for their amazing beaches and fantastic spas, but, did you know they had some heavenly eateries too? Here's a list of the top 5 spots!
Ginger Moon is located right in the heart of Seminyak's 'Eat Street'. Styled with palms and carved, weathered wood, the chic and refreshing little eatery stands out among the bustling Seminyak streets. Ginger Moon is run by first class Australian chef, Dean Keddell, and features some of the most delicious contemporary Asian cuisines. Dean Keddell's genius workings bring together international, familiar presentation with traditional, authentic Balinese flavour. Ginger Moon proudly presents their dishes in portions specifically designed to be grazed and shared among friends, because, to put in the words of Dean Keddell, "Whenever people share a meal with friends, family or loved ones, this is when they are at their happiest". Ginger Moon offers a fantastic array of delicious dishes, together with locally-inspired cocktails and mocktails, as well as beers and a small but diverse wine list. They are open between 11 am and midnight and prices for main dishes differ between US$ 6 and US$ 12.
A little touch of Australia deep within Bali, Sisterfields café, located close to Seminyak Square, is a wonderful representation of the iconic, Australian café culture. Sisterfields is open between 7 am and 5 pm and offers delectable and somewhat eccentric Australian dishes like crispy pig's ears, smashed avocado, truffled oyster mushrooms, lobster sliders and pulled-pork rolls. Breakfast at Sisterfields is particularly good! You can easily grab a bite at Sisterfields or any of the other eateries listed here if you're staying at one of the many resorts or Bali hotel, Seminyak has to offer! Places like Alila Seminyak is very conveniently located and is less than 10 minutes away from each of the listed food spots!
Mama San is one of the finest restaurants in Seminyak. The lounge, located within an industrial high ceiling warehouse, is adorned in vintage and retro stylings accentuated by exposed brick walls decorated with old photographs and a beautiful mural of Mama San herself. The exquisite eatery is a fusion restaurant that offers creative and scrumptious dishes from across South East Asia. There's a fun list of cocktails as well with some wonderful tropical mixes! The restaurant is open for lunch between 12 pm and 3 pm and for dinner between 6.30pm and 11pm. You'll need to make reservations, which is possible via their website. Prices range between US$ 7 and US$ 15. Mama san is located at a crossroads that join together Eat Street, Sunset Road, Oberoi Road and the main Seminyak thoroughfare.
Open from 10 am all the way to midnight, this charming bistro brings the mouthwatering tastes of Belgium all the way to Bali. You can treat yourself to some exquisite frites and heavenly steaks while watching brilliantly coloured fishes swimming about in the ceiling tank! Most nights bring with it some live jazz and Blues to accompany your meal. Mannekepis is located on Jalan Legain and their dishes range between US$4 and US$11 in price.
Rolling Fork, located in Jalan Kunti, is one of Bali's best Italian restaurants. Its small interior is a vintage riot of colour and charmingly styled. Don't let its small size fool you though, Rolling Fork offers Italian cuisine with a big heart. Their Filetto di Manzo, a prime beef fillet that's served with black pepper, grilled veggies and mashed potato, and their Fettuccine Bolognese, comes highly recommended. Their pasta dishes are equally exquisite and are homemade! Rolling fork is open between 8.30 am and 11 pm and their prices range between US$ 3 and US$ 9.
