One of the main attractions in the Tioman Island is the dynamic marine life along its coast running from Pahang to the South China Sea. It is very common to catch tourists enjoying the sea while engaging in activities like diving, snorkelling, surfing, and swimming. If you are planning to stay on the Island for more than five days you can purchase a diving licence for around RM 1000, and enjoy the deep sea dives side by side with the colourful fish. For those who do not want to get into the sea, there are activities like paddle-boating and sea walking. You can also go on a fishing trip with the hope to catch a mackerel, snapper, golden trevally, grouper, or even a barracuda. There are no fishing restrictions in the Island, so you can sit back and relax while waiting for the fish to catch your bait.
The variety of cuisine that the Tioman Island has to offer is amazing. Especially the seafood dishes prepared with their freshwater catch is mouth-watering and can do its wonders. There are many hotels and restaurants such as Berjaya Tioman Resort offering local cuisine, as well as some nice coffee shops, fast food restaurants, and bars.
One of the best experiences that will create lasting memories in this Island is watching the sunset while relaxing on the beach. The famous Paya beach is an ideal place to chill out on your evening while sipping a beer. There are several points for watching the sunset on the horizon creating a magical environment. You can try a jetty, a beach, or one of the small restaurants with a clear view to get this experience.
