Astro Botonicals at Union Station - 11/18/17 - 12/31/17

TAKE A WALK THROUGH THIS OTHER-WORLDLY WONDER . . .From November 18th through December 31st, guests will experience a bold, new sculpture garden that’s going to catch the eye of nature lovers, art enthusiasts and will capture the hearts of the playful. Just outside Science City in the new Haverty Family Yards, eight inflatable sculptures between eight and 15 feet tall will “grow” in a unique and fantastical exhibition.

Astro Botanicals visits Kansas City for the first time and ONLY at Union Station. Union Station Members will experience it for FREE and non-members can expect a nominal charge. Green thumb or not, this is a “garden walk” you won’t want to miss!

Miniature Train Ride at Union Station - 11/18/17 - 1/1/18

Take a ride on the miniature train at Union Station! Often referred to as the Jones Store Train and beloved by generations at the holidays, it was once a popular attraction at the Jones Store downtown.
Riders must be under 48" tall (approximately 5-6 years of age and under).
Fee: Union Station Members FREE, Non-members $5

Closed on Mondays, November 23 and December 24, 25 and 31.

The Nutcracker - 11/18/17 - 12/24/17

Watch the professionals from the KC Ballet and Moscow Ballet perform The Nutcracker! Also check out information on interactive, short dance classes for kids and watch the amateurs ice dance.

Trip the Light Fantastic at Christmas in the Park - 11/21/17

Trip The Light Fantastic is a Free Event for bicyclists to enjoy a 4.5-mile Magical Bike Ride through the hundreds of lighted, animated displays at Jackson County’s Christmas in the Park!

99.7 The Point's Taylor McKay will host the pre-event festivities with musical entertainment by Tevin Williams. Prizes will be awarded to the Best Lit/Holiday Decorated Bike and the Best Lit/Holiday Dressed Individual.

Free to ride if you register by November 19th. $5 to register on-site.

WinterFest at Worlds of Fun - 11/24/17 - 12/30/17

Holiday cheer rings out at Worlds of Fun during the first annual WinterFest celebration.  Thousands of sparkling lights transform the park with an inviting glow that warms the heart and lifts the spirit. Witness 10 live shows, meet over 16 iconic holiday characters, join 9 holiday activities like ice skating and cooking decorating, ride select park attractions, and create lasting memories with family and friends.

Santa's Gingerbread Station at Crown Center - 11/24/17 - 12/31/17

All aboard for a favorite holiday tradition at Crown Center! Kids and families can explore this interactive exhibit, meet and have their photo taken with Santa Claus (through December 24), climb aboard the Crown Center Express Train Engine, and enjoy Gingerbread Village. No admission fee. Photos with Santa are available for a fee, or you may take your own. Open during Crown Center Shops holiday hours. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and noon to 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve.Closed Christmas Day.

Downtown Dazzle - 11/24/17 - 1/1/18

In its fourth year, Downtown Dazzle will run from Nov. 24 to Jan. 1, offering more than a full month of holiday fun for Kansas City visitors of all ages. The seasonal event brings people together from across the region to explore Downtown Kansas City and celebrate the season with holiday lights, special experiences and dining and shopping exclusives.

Powell Gardens - Festival of Lights - 12/1/17 - 1/7/18

The Powell Gardens Festival of Lights offers a unique holiday experience that is unseen before in the Kansas City area. A lighting exhibition, artfully curated by the Powell Gardens Horticulture staff, the Festival of Lights includes botanically-themed lighting displays that begin at the garden entrance and stretch along a winding pathway through six of the seven themed gardens.

Open Thursday-Sunday, 3PM-9PM.

Train Ride with Santa at the Belton Railroad - 12/2/17 - 12/9/17

Santa is coming back to visit the Belton, Grandview, & Kansas City Railroad this year. We hope your family will join us for a train ride with Santa.

Santa will join us for a 40 minute train ride, will visit with guests, and will stop for photos if you wish, all while the train moves down the track. Be sure to bring a camera! We will sing songs and talk to Santa about activities at the North Pole. After the train, the Railroad will serve hot chocolate and a cookie for each passenger. The Gift Shop will be open too!

Children 2 years old and younger are free and do not require a ticket; however young children must be on an adult’s lap during the trip.

Historical Visit with St. Nick at Shoal Creek Living History Museum - 12/2/17

Join us for a walking tour through our holiday decorated homes and log cabins of the 1800’s while re-enactors bring the village to life.Visit St. Nicholas in the Thornton Mansion in his resplendent green velvet robes, make your Christmas purchases at the Mercantile and post your St. Nicholas letter.

Bring your flashlight to participate in the candy cane hunt in the Christmas Tree Forest for children ages 10 and under. Parents must accompany their children on the candy cane hunt.

After, head indoors the Mission where children will be provided a tree ornament to decorate and take home while enjoying some hot cocoa.Finish off your evening with a chat and photo opportunity with Santa!

Sugar Plum Fairy Children's Ball at Muehlebach Tower - 12/9/17

Immediately followed by the 2:00 p.m. performance of Kansas City Ballet’s The Nutcracker at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Guests will park at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and be whisked off to the beautiful Muehlebach Tower and the magic of the holidays. Children will delight in having their complimentary picture taken with the Sugar Plum Fairy, watching traveling magicians, and interacting with costumed characters. Parents will enjoy shopping at our fantastic silent auction. You will dine on a delicious three course lunch, enjoy entertainment provided by Kansas City Youth Ballet and dance with your family and friends to holiday music. The excitement continues as you see the wonderful re-imagined holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. The Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball is a benefit for Kansas City Ballet School and its scholarship program.

Puppets for Paws with Santa Claus at Summit Fair - 12/7/17

Come out for a FREE, holiday themed version of the Mesner Puppet Theater’s, Comical Adventures of Old Mother Hubbard and help us support Furry Kids’ Refuge in the process!

(Check out their wish list for items to donate – donations accepted at the event!)Kiddos get to sit with Santa Claus during the show and will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa following the event.
