Best Fitness Movies Of All Time

Here are some of the top fitness movies that have ever been made (in my opinion). Many of these titles are available to watch on Amazon Prime or Netflix, so be sure to check them out.

1

Rocky

Rocky

The original Rocky movie was released in 1976, but it is still considered to be the definitive boxing movie over 40 years later. The training, the music, Sylvester Stallone and of course the epic fights make all of the Rocky movies a joy to watch.

The Karate Kid

The original movie from 1984 was responsible for inspiring a whole generation of children and teenagers to take up karate and other forms of self-defense, and is considered by many to be the best martial arts movie. A timeless classic.

Generation Iron

This movie from 2013 gives you a unique behind-the-scenes look at the professional bodybuilding industry, and featured some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Dennis Wolf and Branch Warren.

Chariots of Fire

Chariots of Fire is a classic British movie from 1981 that is all about the rivalry of two athletes who come from two completely different backgrounds who go on to compete in the 1924 Olympic Games. With a memorable theme tune and an inspirational, thought-provoking story, this is a really good movie.

G.I. Jane

G.I.Jane is a 1997 movie starring Demi Moore that tells the story of a determined woman who becomes the first woman to train with the elite Navy SEALS commando force. Demi Moore really got into character for this role, and although it is not exactly an all-time classic, the training scenes are very motivational.

Pumping Iron

Pumping Iron is a documentary-style movie from 1977 that introduced Arnold Schwarzenegger to the world, and gave people an insight into the world of professional bodybuilding.

The Fighter

The Fighter is a multi-award winning movie from 2011 that starred Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale as two brothers who come together to train for a title fight that could help to unite their family. Similar to Rocky, this is another boxing movie that has lots of great training scenes.

Conan The Barbarian

This movie from 1982 is a firm favorite with many Arnold Schwarzenegger fans because it is a career-defining movie that has lots of action scenes and memorable quotes, and is one that will really inspire you to hit the gym.

KickBoxer

KickBoxer is a classic martial arts movie from 1989 that starred Jean-Claude van Damme as a rookie fighter who trains to become a champion in order to seek revenge against Tong Po, who paralyzed his brother.
