30% of all published content are lists. It varies by blog, but 30% if a pretty solid stat. The most viewed posts on the web are dominated by list posts.
So are you using List posts in your marketing? I know it's a good question. What's your Listly stat of the week?
I just wanted to give a shout out to Adelaide and @adelaidetweets. We have a number of cities around the world that have jumped on Listly. Adelaide is one our biggest cities and that all began with this list. What this showed us was that lists can spread locally. I don't know about you, but I've always thought things spread randomly. Being able to be geo-focussed is pretty valuable
Do you have a plan for your city? Would you like some List topic ideas for your city?
One of the biggest benefits to is the high SEO ranking that Listly brings to your lists and list posts. This list of Old Hindi Songs gets 100-200 views per day. That number has been building steadily. That's a lot of Listly's value - to bring a stream of traffic to your content on your blog. Unsurprisingly this list is on page 1 of Google etc for a number of related terms
Lists grow the lifetime value of your content, by keeping your posts changing. Since Google's Panda release they have been factoring social shares into SEO results. So keeping your life alive lets you defend your place on page one.
Oddly, this list isn't even embedded anywhere yet! Someone is missing an opportunity there me thinks. The song list has seen over 10k views.
Denise Wakeman wrote a review calling listly "The Ultimate List Post Building Tool". Thanks Denise:)
I had the pleasure of speaking with Denise this week. She's quite the fan. And she's been adding lists to all her posts lately. She finds it so easy she's worried she's using Listly too much. We think not!
You may not have noticed, but you can pick you own image for an item on your list.
Simple paste in the URL of any image on the web into the "Image URL" field when you edit your item
Super simple.
