The Phuket Big Buddha is easily one of the most recognised and known landmarks on the entire island. At over forty-five metres tall, with a base of nearly twenty-five metres, the Big Buddha can be seen from quite a distance away. The Big Buddha statue was actually built in 2004. A stunning vista awaits those who make the trek to see this particular attraction because the site has a stunning 360-degree view of the island. From this particular viewpoint, tourists can enjoy seeing Kata, Chalong Bay, Phuket Town and Karon. This particular local attraction is open to the public from 8am to 7.30pm. However, for a spectacular sunset, make sure to be at the viewpoint by at least 6.30 in the evening.
