Beach Life: 4 Best Spots on the Sand in Abu Dhabi – Time for that Fine Tan!

With idyllic sunny days and warm waters, Abu Dhabi is well suited in terms of a great beach destination. Swimmers and beachgoers are both spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches.

1

Saadiyat Public Beach

Located on the island of Saadiyat, it is a beach that is ideal for going with your friends and family. It offers a laidback experience and comes with a host of activities; be it a meditative yoga session on the sandy beach or windsurfing to get your adrenaline rushing. The beach has attentive and friendly staff members present over the entire 9 kilometre stretch to assist you in any way required. The entrance fee to the beach is 25 dirhams which doesn't seem much when you consider the fact that the beach has over 300 loungers, showering facilities, changing rooms and a beach café that offers a range of food and drinks. The Saadiyat Public Beach is quite close to most marinas in Abu Dhabi and is easily accessible by bus.

2

Yas Beach

Located on Yas Island, this beach offers activities for people of all kinds. A 400 metre long beachfront where clear water washes up against pristine white sand, it has an open air DJ booth, a mesmerizing infinity pool and five private and seductive chalets. Entrance is free for those staying at a hotel on Yas Island and is priced at 50 dirhams for outsiders. The infinity pool is just for adults but there is a separate splash pool for kids. Yas Beach also has a music free section where you can enjoy a calm day by the shore with either your friends or family. If you are looking for something more private and secluded, you can consider one of the island resorts present off the shores, such as Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts.

3

Corniche Beach

One of the most famed beaches in Abu Dhabi, the beach stretches on for about 8 kilometres. The beach has been certified Blue Flag as a recognition for its quality. For those of you who do not know, it certifies the cleanliness and the safety of the place. Parking is of no hassle thanks to the roughly 1100 parking slots. There is no entrance fee for the beach and facilities such as showering areas and changing rooms are available. Corniche Beach also has multiple volleyball and beach football pitches that you can use for no cost at all. You can find an array of cafes, shops that sell beach gear and also up to 27 cabanas on the beach.

4

Al Bateen Beach

The Al Bateen Beach has a warm and family friendly ambience attached to it. This makes the beach famous for both expats as well as natives. Up to 800 meters long, you can have a beautiful view of the Hudariyat Bridge. The beach has its own kid's playground to keep the little ones occupied. For adults looking for something more exciting than lounging by the beach, there is kayaking and paddleboards on offer.
