6 Best Beaches to Explore in Seychelles – Sun Soaked Paradise

The Seychelles is blessed with some of the best beaches on the planet offering everything from secluded shores to thrilling water sports. Here are six of the best beaches worth exploring.

1

Anse Lazio

A favourite amongst photographers, not to mention those who want to spend their holiday by picture postcard like shores, Anse Lazio is one of the most beautiful beaches in Seychelles. Located near Praslin, this beach features a long shoreline with plenty of space to just kick back in the sand and soak up the sun. Home to large granite boulders that add to the scenic backdrop, Anse Lazio is a great place for snorkelling and seeing sea turtles as well. Also of note are the stunning sunsets that can be enjoyed here.

2

Anse Source d'Argent

Pure white sand, dazzling blue waters and characteristically huge granite boulders perfectly frame this heavenly beach on La Digue. Considered one of the world's best and an essential beach to visit while staying at a resort in Seychelles, Anse Source d'Argent has constantly been included in many top global beach lists from National Geographic to TripAdvisor. Featuring crystal clear waters and a reef where one can enjoy a spot of snorkelling, this beautiful beach is also a great spot for a picnic be it with the family or that special someone.

3

Anse Barbarons

A perfect white sandy beach for lounging in the sun or having a relaxing swim in the ocean, Anse Barbarons is another must visit beach in Seychelles. Located beside AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa, this beach can be found on Mahé's west coast and is known for its changing tides offering something different to experience; low tide is a great time to laze on the beach and work on that tan, while when the tide is up one can have a nice long swim and try some snorkelling too.

4

Anse Major

Part of the lure of this beach is the adventure to get there; be it by way of a hike along a nature trail set amidst stunning natural backdrops or by way of a boat ride from Beau-Vallon Bay, getting to Anse Major is an unforgettable experience. When you arrive you will be greeted by a large stretch of shore which offers seclusions and serenity. The clear waters that surround the beach offer plenty of snorkelling fun too.

5

Petite Anse

La Digue is where you will find this beach which provides the perfect coastal escape for those looking for shores that are relatively deserted. The idyllic Petite Anse features white sand and turquoise waters, the perfect backdrop for some great photos too. However, the current is quite strong here so it is not that suitable for swimming.

6

Beau Vallon

One of the most well-known beaches in Seychelles, Beau Vallon offers a laid back coastal getaway for young and old alike. Home to a picturesque bay, this beach is popular with those looking to enjoy some snorkelling, swimming and water sports too. It is also a great place to catch some spectacular Seychelles sunsets.
