Top Casinos in Macau – Find out why Macau is referred to as Asia's gaming capital!

For ages, Macau has steadily remained as Asia's gaming capital. With an influx of investors, the island now has over 34 casinos. Here we take a look at the best ones out of the lot.

1

City of Dreams

Aptly named, this is one of the largest casinos present on the island. To put it into figures, the City of Dreams has almost one thousand machines and approximately three hundred and fifty gaming tables. There is a host of games available such as blackjack, roulette and craps to name a few. What makes the City of Dreams special is that it's more than just the machines. It is also home to the most popular stage show on the island. Referred to as the House of Dancing Water, it was the brainchild of award winning maker, Franco Dragone. Another highlight of the City of Dreams is the ten minute show called Dragon's Treasure. It is an HD movie that is played with musical scores and twenty nine thousand LEDs that deliver a vibrant spectacle.

The Venetian Macao

The world's largest casino, it has a mind-boggling eight hundred tables and over three thousand four hundred machines that are separated into 4 sectors. The combined area of the compound reaches over 550000m2 making it the biggest single structured establishment in the whole of Asia. The Venetian Macao has a kids area called the Venetian Kids zone where your kids are looked after and kept occupied so you can continue playing on one of the many tables. The compound has over three hundred and thirty stores that sell top of the line items. The casino also has an eighteen hole mini golf course that you can try out if you are bored of the board games.

Lisboa Casino

One of the oldest casinos present on the island, it has a history stretching back to 1970. With an iconic lotus shaped design, the Lisboa Casino has remained a landmark for years. It has over seven hundred machines that allow you to start bets for just 2 cents. When it comes to tables, the casino houses over two hundred and forty of them. The Lisboa Casino is famed for the poker tournaments it regularly hosts. These tournaments are considered the biggest in the continent. Set in a strategic location, it is quite close to most hotels and serviced apartments in Macau such as the Ascott Macau.

The Sands Macao

This casino belongs to one of the largest casino companies in the world, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. The Sands Macao offers a gaming area that spans over 3 floors that add up 165000m2. Similar to the Las Vegas Sands, the beverages and the buffet is free to users and the compound hosts an array of entertainment options. Visitors can make use of up to seven hundred and forty tables and over thousand machines or even the excellent VIP areas. The casino tends to be pretty crowded on the weekends thanks to its setting close to the pier.
