4. Towels
People think they're being thoughtful by giving you something practical, but a towel may be a bit too generic. On the other hand, in a country as humid as the Philippines, it may not be a bad idea to gift towels.

Admit it: picture frames have been passe even before people began uploading photos on social media. Unless it's a handcrafted gift by your kids for lolo and lola, you're better off giving something else.

Pens are mighty useful on a normal day, but they don't really say much as a Christmas present. Anyone can buy one anywhere at any given day. We're pretty sure you can come up with something better.

1. Mugs and Tumblers
Basically, it will not be used. These brittle items are indirect advertisements for companies that gove them away as freebies. It will just be placed on closets until it is forgotten :( .
