Libya

And finally, we come to the world’s hottest country- Libya. The temperatures in Libya re so high that the people there are known to get affected by it in the form of some skin blisters or diseases. The record for the highest temperature ever recorded in the world was in Libya. It was in 1922 and the temperature recorded there was 57.8°C! At such a high temperature, one is not able to function at ease. The Libyan Desert, which covers most of the land in the country, is dry and arid. So one must not complain about not having the best luxuries in the world as there are many people out there in various countries who are fighting to keep a roof over their heads while fighting this heat.

Saudi Arabia

Vast expanse of deserts and sprawling rich lifestyles, Saudi Arabia is a country like no other. Being one of the hottest and one of the richest countries in the world, the Monarch of Saudi Arabia has seen to it that the citizens are provided comfortable facilities to beat the heat. Extreme temperatures have been recorded in Saudi Arabia and the average temperature in summers can go to about 54°C. The country mostly consists of the Arabian Desert, making it dry and useless for agriculture.

Iraq

The war-torn country of Iraq faces many more problems than just war. And one of the biggest and the major problems they face is that of heat. The Middle-Eastern country faces summers that have temperatures that go over 48°C up to almost 54°C. The general temperature throughout most parts of the year also remains somewhere above 40°C. Like Iran, this country too has a mountainous northern region where it even snows in winters. But in the rest of the country, there is no respite from the hot summers.

Hot countries and African countries go hand-in-hand. The North African country of Algeria is no exception to this rule. Due to deserts, the temperature in the country can be hot throughout the year. There are snow-capped mountains in some areas of the country but mostly, there are deserts which are expanded all over the place. The average temperature is about 50-53°C with the hottest temperatures being recorded in the region of Salah. The coastal areas are blessed with rainfalls but the central regions are very dry.

Many countries have a climate where the winters are very cold and the summers are very hot. Iran is one such country. Located in the Middle-East, Iran’s northern region, flanked by mountains, is generally cool where temperatures do not exceed 29°C even in summer. But the southern parts of the country are extremely hot. The temperatures here soar up to 50°C where as the normal temperature on a summer day is 40-45°C. The country is really dry and arid and thus, the people have to go through some troubles to function normally in the summers.

Oman, the Arab state, is known to be one of the richest countries in the world, but do you know that it is also one of the hottest countries in the world? For almost 5 to 6 months in a year, the temperature of Oman is around 50-53°C. Because it is a rich country, many facilities have been provided to the people of the country to battle such heat. For example, the buses, bus stops, trains, etc are all air-conditioned. It receives some rainfall but that too is restricted in the little mountainous regions of Oman such as the Dhofar Mountains.

Sudan

We usually think of African countries to be dry desert-lands or grasslands because of what we see in the movies. Sudan, a country in the northern region of Africa is something of that kind as well. Being a desert-land, the country is one of the hottest and the driest countries in the world with an average temperature of 52°C. Desertification is a major problem in the country and due to the ever-rising temperatures. The country now also faces severe droughts and famines, thus putting in danger a large amount of human life, animal life as well as plant life. This country too, receives almost no rainfall at all.

The mighty Himalayas in the north and north-eastern regions of India do not stop the hot winds from the Indian Ocean to increase the general average temperature of the Indian subcontinent. India sees an average temperature of 50°C in the summers in some central, western and southern parts of the country. Although, the winters in India are just as pleasant as unpleasant are the summers. The country receives rainfall and good winters. So the summers are just a temporary thing. But the coastal regions of India like Goa, Kerala etc which are otherwise pretty hot are a tourist hub in the winters.

Somalia

Somalia may not be one of the safest countries in the world but it is one of the hottest countries in the world. Located in the wretched Horn of Africa region, in the North-eastern Africa, Somalia sees little to no rain at all in one year. The average temperature goes up to about 50°C. The people in the country are on a severe verge of starvation as no food grows due to lack of irrigation. There have been major droughts and famines in the country due to the same lack of irrigation facilities.

Due to the numerous Hollywood movies, we deem Mexico to be a dry and a dangerous place. And sadly, it really not is anything different. The Central American country that boasts of rich heritage, culture, food and beaches sees a year-round high temperature. It has dry grasslands all over. The temperature soars up to 50°C on the hottest days of summer. Of course, the Mexicans have their own ways of cooling down like beaches and cold glasses of drinks. People from cold countries often flock into Mexico to soak in it’s the summer heat. The Mexican beaches, know for the white sand and crystal clear waters, are extremely crowded in the summer with people trying to rid themselves of the heat.
