However, the audience didn't take to the hero's change in acting style.

Raabta

Raabta

There was much that ‘Raabta’ was in buzz for. Right from Sushant’s break-up with his long-time girlfriend Aankita Lokhande to his link-ups with his co-star Kriti. All raised the anticipation level amongst the viewers. While the audience got to see a lot of Sushant-Kriti chemistry, it failed to work for the benefit of the film.

Jagga Jasoos

After a long hiatus, Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ managed to finally release in July this year. Meri Pyaari Bhindu

Akshay Roy’s ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ was yet another outing of actress Parineeti Chopra with Yash Raj Films opposite Ayushmann Khurrana as the male lead. While this film gained good word of mouth publicity before it’s release due to Parineeti’s debut song as a singer in the film, the film in totality after its release proved to be a disaster.

Half Girlfriend

Half Girlfriend

After the success of ‘2 States’, Chetan Bhagat’s next novel ‘Half Girlfriend’ was in great demand. So much so that, Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri bought the rights of making the film on the novel even before the completion of the novel. However, unlike ‘2 States’, ‘Half Girlfriend’ was clichéd and also lacked intensity between the lead pair.

Sarkar 3

Sarkar 3

The third instalment in the Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sarakar’ franchise, ‘Sarkar 3’ starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role yet again, released in May. Although the set-up and actors resemble the first part, it lacks the nuances that ‘Sarkar’ had.
The film also featured actors like Ronit Roy, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam. While the performances of all the actors in the film were praiseworthy, the film was not engaging enough and sadly lacked RGV’s touch

Phillauri

Phillauri

This fantasy comedy was not successful in striking a chord with the audience. Anushka, who played a friendly ghost in the movie, promoted the film extensively before its release. The actors like Suraj Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and Mehreen Pirzada managed to steer the film to some extent with their performance but the one-line plot of the film had nothing great to offer.

8

Rangoon

Rangoon

Rangoon remained one of the most highly anticipated films of 2017 with its most talked about star cast and storyline. The film that released in February had gained much eye balls even before the release of the film for it starred Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor together for the first time. Given the fact that Shahid shares a past with Kareena Kapoor Khan who is currently Saif’s wife, much was written about the duo and their budding professional relationship.
