What's in a name?

Bangkok is also known as The great city, The happy city, the residence of the Emerald Buddha amongst others. Although many know the capital city of Thailand as Bangkok, it's real Thai name is 'Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit' , or in short, Krung Thep Maka Nakhon, or EVEN shorter, Krung Thep. Unsurprisingly, the city made it to the Guinness World Book of Records for having the longest name!

Chao Phraya River

The Chao Phraya River is a significant river that not only defines the geography of the city but also plays a major role in the livelihood of many locals. Running through the heart of Bangkok, the river is the ideal way for tourists and locals to travel around the city while escaping the busy roads.
